I recently sent out a survey to my list to see where the Make Money Your Honey community stands. A couple of things really stood out:
- You guys want more audio and video content
- 81% of the people surveyed want content on how to quit their jobs
And so I’m delivering on both fronts with the How to Quit Your Job Series! In these videos I’m going to be outlining exactly what I did to quit my job with practical guidance and exercises I do with my coaching clients.
First up in how to quit your job, starting to see your job differently. I often times talk to people who are desperate to quit their jobs. Are you one of them?
This can make it really hard to work on a side business to the point of doing it full time because you end up putting a ton of pressure on yourself to succeed quickly.
So what I do is encourage clients and readers to flip the script. Rather than fantasizing about the day you can quit your job, instead see it as an investment in yourself.
Here’s some real talk: if you didn’t have that job you’d be worried about paying bills and might need to seek out a loan for your business (which is not that easy to get). Because of your job you can make sure the bills are covered and don’t have to really worry about securing funding for your business.

If it weren’t for your day job you’d be stressed about being able to pay the bills.
So, yes, while you may hate your job, and while you may prefer to run your own business, you need to be okay with where you currently reside. You are exactly where you need to be for the time being.
Additionally, you need to realize that your job is literally a financial investment in your business. Your goal should then become how to create a plan in order to meet financial obligations and make enough money to be able to quit your job. The rest of the videos in this series will teach you how to do just that.
