Now that 2018 is here, you may have a few resolutions and goals that you want to accomplish. If one of those goals is to make more money, I have 8 different ideas. Here is the list of my favorite ways you can use to make more money in 2018.
Mindset
You may be surprised to see this on a list of ways to make more money in 2018, but I have a reason for including it. If you don’t have the right mindset to make more money, you’re not going to. There are people who know all about the technical side to making money, and they still aren’t making more of it. It’s okay to brag about making money and being unapologetic about wanting to make more. It doesn’t make you evil or greedy.
You also need to make sure that your mindset is focused on saving and earning money. To build wealth, many people believe that it involves only saving, and that’s not really true. While saving money is important, you can reach your goals a lot faster if you’re making more money than if you just save what you have.
Hustle
In order to make more money in 2018, you have to hustle. All of the manifesting and visualizing isn’t going to work if you aren’t working. You can’t wish for something and pray that it comes true. You have to get out there and start pushing yourself to make your own dreams come true.
Cut Out What Isn’t Making You Money
If you are in the beginning stages of your business, you’re going to do things that don’t pay so you can get your name out there. While that’s okay, it’s important to know when to stop doing that. Also, if something hasn’t made you money, but you keep on trying it, it’s time to stop.
You can say no as a freelancer or small business owner. You can say no as a human being. When you want to make more money, you have to work on the things that make you money. If you’re constantly working on things that do nothing but drain you, you aren’t going to get any further ahead.
Simplify
If you really want to make more money in 2018, you have to simplify. If you haven’t yet, check out The Pareto Principle. I finally understood it in 2017, and it basically means that 80% of your results come from 20% of your effort. More work doesn’t always equal more money. In order to make more money, you need to know how to work smarter, not harder.
Ask For More Money
If you want to make more money without increasing your workload, ask for a raise. I took the time to raise my rates in 2017 for new business deals and writing projects. People tend to offer discounts and undervalue themselves when negotiating, but you should know that you deserve more than that.
Learn How To Sell
There is an art and a science to selling, and doing it well. You don’t want to come off as sleazy or inauthentic. To do that, you need to come up with an offering that meets a need in your market, and know how to sell it. As long as you can combine those two things, you can make more money in 2018.
If you are having difficulty with sales, but you know it’s not a mindset issue, it could just be your marketing. Take some time to tweak a few things, and learn better techniques to making sales.
Invest In Help
Investing in help for your business can help you make more money, just like it did for me. I am now on track to consistently earn 5-figures in my business every single month. I invested into marketing, social media, ads, and I hired people to help me along the way.
If you are hesitating on investing in your business, do it! Make 2018 the year you invest in your business and yourself. Sometimes, you need to spend money to make money.
Have Different Sources of Income
My final tip to make more money in 2018, is to have different sources of income. Don’t rely on just one stream. I have about 5 or 6 different sources of income that produce money for me on a monthly basis. Some make more than others, and that’s okay. I know that I have money coming in from different places at all times. So, if I lose a client or an unexpected expense comes up, I know I’m going to be okay.
You could start by offering different services if you are a jack of all trades, or you could start doing more influencer work. You could even branch out and start a completely new business in addition to your first one.
